Overview
EMC Properties has been building Asaba for years. Their name carries weight, their handshake holds. The brief was to give that reputation a mark, a visual identity that elevates their presence from known to undeniable.
The core challenge was defining "trust" not as a vague feeling, but as a set of clear, communicable standards: verified titles, premium materials, transparent timelines. This became the EMC Standard, the strategic backbone of the entire identity.
The concept
After over an hour watching Urbanized (2011), one insight clarified everything: buildings and infrastructure are not at the centre of real estate, people are. Communities, how they operate, what they value.
"Every building has a door, and every door was designed to do one of two things: open (welcome) or close (reject)."
An open door tells you you're invited. It signals that the environment inside is friendly and receptive. It appeals to your natural curiosity to explore. The open door became the core mark, symbolising access, hospitality, welcome, and by extension, community. Subtle, but unmissable once you see it.
Colour & Typography
The palette draws from rich, earthy tones, deep terracotta, burnished gold, and warm whites. Colours that feel established, not flashy. Grounded in the texture of real property, real community, real Asaba.
Brand system
The identity was stress-tested across brand touchpoints, from business cards and stationery through to signage, photography direction, and digital interfaces. Each application reinforced the same promise: precision, warmth, community.
